When we try to use the 'key file' that you send us we get a message saying 'Valid key not found'. What can we do?
When you receive a ‘key file’ from Videotel it is in the form of an email attachment. We have noticed that with some ships email systems, when you save the attachment to the VODStick, the name of the file changes, according to the settings in your email system.
Check that this has not happened to your ‘key file’. Do this by plugging the VODStick into another ship’s computer and opening ‘My Computer’. Look for the drive icon called VODSTICK, and double click the icon to see the ‘key file’. It should be called ‘vodkey.vod’. If it’s not present, then the file has not been saved to your VODSTICK. If the file is called ‘vodkey.vod.txt’ (or something similar), change the file name back to ‘vodkey.vod’.
Sometimes it can help by deleting all files from the VODStick before saving the ‘key file’.
