SAFETY ON SUPERYACHTS
Super yachts are a growing sector of the maritime industry. No longer represented by a handful of privately owned exotic vessels driven by steam or sail, super yachts are now a serious business, marketing luxury charter holidays, VIP events and conference facilities. Super yachts are large, with some vessels in excess of 3000 GT. Super yachts require fully certified crews for maritime operation with many carrying ancillary personnel for catering, housekeeping and leisure activities. All those serving on board super yachts must comply with STCW requirements and be fully aware of their responsibilities and environment. This package looks at all the different ways that you can improve your own safety, and the safety of the people around you - not just the people you work with, but the yacht's owner, the owner's guests, and anyone else on board.
