This video film is especially concerned with the safe packing and securement of packages within containers and freight vehicles and the international regulations and codes which must be followed. It deals with the necessity of ensuring that the container or container vehicle is in good repair, detailing the vulnerable parts of the container and assessing the safety factors.

The correct methods of packing and securement and the need to segregate Dangerous Goods and to label in accordance with the IMO Code are shown.

Special consideration is given to the various classes of Dangerous Goods. What is meant by the labelling and the correct handling and segregation both within the container and for the container as a single item on board ship. What to do if a damaged or leaky package is discovered, the identification of problems and the procedures to be taken are explained.
