Module 2.1 Annual Survey of Hull and Machinery
As a result of successfully completing this Module you will:

1. Be aware of the scope and periodicity of the Annual Survey.
2. Be familiar with the main areas of the hull structure that give rise for concern.
3. Understand the importance of checking hatches, covers and any other openings, air pipes and ventilators.
4. Understand the importance of coating condition when checking the holds and tanks.
5. Be familiar with the main items of machinery that are covered in this survey.
6. Know the type and location of the various fire and smoke detectors on your vessel and be familiar with all the other components of the fire fighting system.
