A seafarer awarded for his bravery in during a piracy attack shares his views with Videotel TV.
Filipino seafarers have a reputation for being professional, adaptable, and capable individuals. The Outstanding Filipino Seafarers Award (TOFSA) recognises the vital role of Filipino seafarers in the industry. This year's TOFSA event was held at The Philippine International Convention Centre, 22nd June.
Captain Aberlardo M. Pacheco was awarded for his exceptional bravery at sea when his ship was abducted by Somali pirates in November 2008. He not only maintained morale amongst his crew but successfully maintained communications, seeing his crew safely released in April 2009.
