V. SHIPS SIGN TO VOD
18 December 2006
We are delighted to announce V. Ships as our latest client to install VOD across their entire fleet.
V. Ships is the largest global provider of marine services, boasting a fleet of over 900 vessels. VOD (Videotel on Demand), our on board computer training system, will provide all V. Ships crews with instant access to our full CBT (computer based training) packages and video libraries wherever they are in the world.
Martin Burley, Training Manager of V. Ships comments, "We are confident that not only does VOD add value to our on board training programme, but brings enhanced safety of our crews and vessels. This investment in training will provide V. Ships access to a full range of more than 500 videos covering everything from personal health and safety training; to navigation, emergency procedures, and security precautions.”
Videotel are constantly developing new innovations to improve accessibility and meet individual training needs, without sacrificing on quality. “We know space on board is limited. Even the best-equipped ships can carry only a fraction of the training resources that are available”, says Captain Mike Potts, General Manager at Videotel, “VOD allows access to any of our training packages, programs or courses at any time. The system means crews can access the most suitable training course for their needs- a big advance in terms of continuing professional development. They can instantly find out how to deal with any problem or weakness that arises on board or within the fleet at short notice."
