IMO – the International Maritime Organization – is the United Nations specialized agency with responsibility for the safety and security of shipping and the prevention of marine pollution by ships.  A​​s a specialized agency of the United Nations, IMO is the global standard-setting authority for the safety, security and environmental performance of international shipping. Its main role is to create a regulatory framework for the shipping industry that is fair and effective, universally adopted and universally implemented.

London Shipping Week

LISW17 will feature over 140 industry functions and networking opportunities in London during the week of 11-15 September, 2017, attended by leaders across all sectors of the international shipping industry. The events will be held by international shipping and marine trade associations and UK Government (known as Supporting Organisations), as well as by official sponsors of the week. An estimated 15,000 industry leaders are expected to attend the week, suggesting a global networking opportunity of the highest level.
